Russell Banks. 1992 the family relocated to Seattle and united with Beacon Ave. Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Willie Vaughn. In 1992 on January 31st at a revival Bishop Vaughn led Pastor Harris to Christ and he has never been the same since. Pastor Harris moved to Walla Walla, WA for college and attended East Pasco Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Westbrook. In 1997 Bishop moved back to New Orleans he joined New Home Ministries under the leadership of Prophet R. C. Blakes Sr. 1998 He joined and became the youth pastor of Holy Hill Baptized Church Harvey, LA under the leadership of Rev. Leon Hannibal Sr. After serving as youth pastor 1998-2001 Pastor Harris joined Household of Faith Family Worship Church International under the leadership of Pastor Antoine Barriere. While at HOF Pastor Harris was put through the Ministerial Alliance classes that all Elders and Ministers had to go through and complete.

After meeting the love of his life Pastor Brenetta B. Harris, the couple married and relocated to Seattle with their first child and joined Intime Ministries Fellowship under the leadership of Bishop’s Willie and Vicky Shannon who ordained them as elders. After serving Intime ministries for 2-years Pastor Harris answered his call to pastoral ministry and founded God First Christian Ministries International in May 2007. In 2008 Pastor Harris was consecrated as Bishop by Daily Bread Outreach Ministries International under the leadership of Prelate Bishop Herman Smith.

Bishop Harris heard the voice of God and started his own church called God First Christian Ministries International. GFCMI went strong for 12 years but Bishop heard from God again to change the name and location of the church to Yeshua International Assembly “A Church Where Grace, Truth, and Love are alive.” The church has always been a close knit family and many of the members had once had to live or stay with the Harris family due to hardship and the Bishop & First Lady received and help them with open arms. They have always bounced around from place to place renting out business locations, community halls, utilizing homes for church. Bishop was one day praying for another pastor that he would receive a debt free building that could be their own but he was not realizing that the prayer would ultimately be an answer for him.

After the untimely passing of Bishop Alvin Vaughn, Pastor Harris was name Lead Pastor of Beacon Ave. Church of God February 25th, 2024. Pastor Harris is an enthusiastic, caring, passionate, visionary, innovative and outgoing leader who is committed to following the will of God no matter what. He didn’t want to have to lose his great friend Bishop Alvin Vaughn but he knew stepping into this role was something that both Willie Vaugh and Alvin would have wanted. It has become a full circle moment as the same church Bishop Harris received Christ in is now the church he gets to pastor.
